Paint the Town Pink FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Paint the Town Pink doesn’t happen over night, it takes the dedication of a number of volunteers and businesses across all of our Pink Towns. To make Paint the Town Pink as easy as possible for our towns, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions regarding everything from when the event takes place to planning and promoting town events and business promotions. If you don’t see the answer to your question below please feel free to contact us.
When is Paint the Town Pink?
The entire month of May, from May 1 to May 31, Hackensack Meridian Health with the help of our Pink Towns will raise awareness of the importance of annual mammography and women’s wellness all throughout the state of New Jersey.
I don’t see my town listed; can I still participate as a volunteer or business?
Yes. If you do not see your town you are still welcome to participate, however you may be responsible for picking up your own kit and/or obtaining your own town approval. Please contact Hackensack Meridian Health for details.
How does my town get the banner and bows to be displayed in town?
All banners and bows must be approved by the town. If your town has participated in Paint the Town Pink before, they may not require someone to attend a town council meeting, but some towns require a representative to attend a town council meeting to present a proposal to turn the town pink. Your Hackensack Meridian Health liaison will help you with obtaining town approval and will provide and install the banners and bows.
Please note only towns who have township approval by March 29, 2017 will receive a banner and bows.
How can I get pink bows, flags, and other items?
Due to the incredible participation among our communities, kits (which include bows, flags, and other decorative items) are only provided to businesses, community groups, and schools who register at PaintTheTownPink.com by April 12. Bows and flags are not available for individual homes. We do have limited supplies of Pink magnets and other goodies available throughout the month of May at various Pink events. Visit PaintTheTownPink.com for more information.

How do I plan or host an event to support Paint the Town Pink?
While events are not required, signature town events or events at businesses can be a fun rallying opportunity for your town! Events should reflect your town’s personality, and of course, support the mission of Paint the Town Pink. All events will be considered “third-party,” which means they will be organized and managed by the town committees. Hackensack Meridian liaisons are happy to help with brainstorming ideas and reviewing promotions for the events, but all logistics including venues, permits and approvals from the town, promotion of the event and costs to host the event, will be the responsibility of the committee.
Can I have more than one event?
Yes. Towns are not be limited to the number of events they can host, however all town events will fall under the third party event umbrella.
Does Hackensack Meridian need to approve my event?
Towns should consult their Hackensack Meridian liaisons prior to planning an event in order to ensure the event supports the mission and the brand, and is not being planned the same day as other Pink events.
How will my event be promoted?
Town event promotions will be primarily the responsibility of each town, but Hackensack Meridian is happy to help spread the word through PaintTheTownPink.com, social media, and other promotional channels.
Can I use the Pink logo or a template to create my event promotions?
We want all of our events, towns, and communication to be brand-friendly. Contact your Hackensack Meridian liaison or visit the “Chair Corner” tab on PaintTheTownPink.com for access to templates and download our logo. All flyers should be approved by your Hackensack Meridian Liaison prior to distribution. Please do not alter the logo or Hackensack Meridian Health/Paint the Town Pink brand in any way.
